Our Results

Although streamlined, MIM has mastered how to leverage limited resources while achieving significant results in changing lives.  In keeping with its rigorous professional standards, MIM subjects many of the program results to independent critical review by LightShift Associates, LLC.

General

  • More than 50,000 students, parents and educators have participated in an MIM Program or Event
  • More than 1,000 health and science professionals have volunteered to train or mentor MIM students
  • Three papers published in peer-reviewed journals; two abstracts presented at industry meetings; one manuscript in progress
  • More than 35 television, radio and social media press features.

College Level

  • Almost all applicants to our Medical Pathway Program were advised not to apply to medical school.
  • 86% of MPP applicants accepted to medical school after taking the Medical Pathway Program (127 out of 145)
  • Over 93% college/post-baccalaureate students in the health professional/science pipeline after program completion

School Based (Middle and High School)

  • 1,852 middle and high students participated in NYC after school program since 2009.
  • 98% enrolled in college, 58% pursued STEM career in college (small sampling of 68 random participants who completed high school program)
  • 405 students have participated in the in-class elective since 2012.
  • 304 middle and high school students participated in the DC after school program since 2013
