Our Results

MIM has achieved significant results in changing lives.  In keeping with its rigorous professional standards, MIM subjects many of the program results to independent evaluation.

General

  • More than 55,000 students, parents and educators have participated in an MIM Program or Event
  • More than 1,500 health and science professionals have volunteered to train or mentor MIM students
  • Five papers published in peer-reviewed journals; two abstracts presented at industry meetings.
  • More than 60 television, radio and social media press features.

College Level

  • Almost all applicants to our Medical Pathway Program were advised not to apply to medical school.
  • Of the 502 participants since 2009, 293 students applied to medical school and 259 students were accepted and matriculated into medical schools. Of the remaining, 162 are in a health or science related field.
  • Over 93% college/post-baccalaureate students in the health professional/science pipeline after program completion

School Based (Middle and High School)

  • 3,875 middle and high students participated in NYC after school program since 2009.
  • 98% enrolled in college, 58% pursued STEM career in college (small sampling of 68 random participants who completed high school program)
  • 405 students have participated in the in-class elective since 2012.
  • 304 middle and high school students participated in the DC after school program since 2013
